Lake Lanier Duckett Mill

Lake Lanier Duckett Mill Campground, Army Corps of Engineers; Gainesville, GA Campground Review

Lake Lanier is a beautiful lake in north Georgia with one of our favorite campgrounds so far – Lake Lanier Duckett Mill ! The campground is operated by the Army Corps of Engineers, located in north Georgia outside Gainesville, and is right on the shores of Lake Lanier. We will definitely be returning to this campground as it’s only a 30 minute drive from our younger son’s home. We were here for two different stays — one in early May and one in early June of 2019 and were very pleased both times.

Lake Lanier Duckett Mill Overview

The main feature of this campground is proximity and access to Lake Lanier. All of the RV sites here are excellent, but there are a number of sites that have AMAZING views of the lake (see below for list). We were at site #80 for our first stay, and we couldn’t make ourselves leave the site or go inside the RV. We set-up our chairs and stayed outside enjoying the magnificent views. The park is very quiet during the week, but on weekends the sites are full and the lake is buzzing with motorized water craft.

Amenities

There are not a lot of resort-type amenities at Lake Lanier Duckett Mill, although there are two fishing jetties and a beach. The children’s playground is very small and minimal and is unfortunately located right next to the RV dumping station. There are a few bath houses with fairly old fixtures but clean, and a washer/dryer set is located at one of the bath houses. The roads are well paved, and all sites are a combination of pavement and cement pads with fine gravel patio surfaces with picnic tables, grills, and fire rings. Sites are offset and angled to provide good privacy and you don’t like your neighbors are on top of you.

We wholeheartedly give Duckett Mill Campground an “A” and look forward to future stays at this park.

All sites are wonderful sites and typically have great tree cover with glimpses of the lake through the trees. • That’s awesome – so glad you found us. We don’t post as regularly as some because we’re running multiple entrepreneurial endeavors. Thank you for your kind feedback, and I hope you enjoy Duckett Mill as much as we did.
