Alsatian RV Resort is in a great location for enjoying the numerous activities available around San Antonio and Texas Hill Country. Situated just 30 minutes west of San Antonio and about 90 minutes from the center of Texas Hill Country, this campground is a great option for a home base. We stayed at Alsatian RV Resort for three nights in May 2020. We were visiting friends who were also staying at the park and taking a break between mapping projects in Texas and Oklahoma. Alsatian RV Resort is very easy to access and just minutes from US-90. The park is generally quiet, although sites along the south edge of the RV park will likely get considerable road noise from the traffic on the county road.
The primary amenities at Alsatian RV Resort are the pool and covered pavilion area, and they are both excellent features in the park. The pool includes a hot tub and spacious pool deck with separate lounging space adjacent to the pool’s waterfall. The very large covered pavilion has comfortable seating groupings scattered around the space with a fine view of the golf course. Additional amenities include a fishing pond, an air-conditioned exercise room and club house area, along with a bath house and laundry facility, and on-site propane.
Conditions throughout the park are excellent. All sites are fully paved with full hook ups surrounded by clean gravel. Patio furniture is provided at every site. Our only complaint is that, except for the casitas, the sites are oriented so that they receive full sun for most of the day. That is partly why we chose to stay at a casita site. These sites are very nice with a large patio, covered porch with fan, and air-conditioned interior space that includes a full bath, office area, and storage.
All in all, we rate Alsatian RV Resort an “A” in the RV Resort category. The beautiful pool and pavilion, option for casita sites, excellent condition, proximity to leisure fishing and golfing, and access to San Antonio and Texas Hill Country make this a resort we’d be happy to stay at again.
