Full-time RV Camping Costs – FREE DOWNLOAD

Full-time RV camping costs is the budget category that is most applicable to all full-time RVers. We all have to park our rig somewhere each night, right? There are a bunch of other categories like insurance, fuel, maintenance, entertainment and more that are widely variable based on your travel style, type of RV, and life style. And while camping costs are also impacted by personal preferences, it’s the one category that is most common across all full-time RVers.

Alsatian RV Resort; Castroville, TX Campground Review

Alsatian RV Resort is in a great location for enjoying the numerous activities available around San Antonio and Texas Hill Country. Situated just 30 minutes west of San Antonio and about 90 minutes from the center of Texas Hill Country, this campground is a great option for a home base. We stayed at Alsatian RV Resort for three nights in May 2020. We were visiting friends who were also staying at the park and taking a break between mapping projects in Texas and Oklahoma. RV Extended Warranty

RV Extended Warranty – Our Experience & Great Resources

RV Extended Warranty – Our Experience

RV Extended Warranty events are never fun, and unfortunately we had two events occur in the same month. We had a number of non-critical component failures on the RV over the last several months. By non-critical, we mean various things on the RV that broke but that we could manage to live without for a short time or find a work-around. We had delayed getting those things fixed until we could be near a service center and also be stationary long enough to work through the warranty process. We decided the best time and place to get these repairs done was while we were in Las Vegas helping family with some issues.

Thousand Trails Colorado River

Thousand Trails Colorado River RV Park; Columbus, TX Campground Review

Thousand Trails Colorado River RV Park is very conveniently located just five miles off I-10 between Houston and San Antonio. This campground is a nice mix of amenities and natural areas and is a great spot to stop for a few days or even a bit longer. We stayed at Thousand Trails Colorado River RV Park for four nights in January 2020. We were on a cross-country trip from Florida to Nevada and picked this location to rest for a few days before continuing west. We arrived on a Saturday, and unfortunately all the full hookup sites were occupied and we ended up with a water/electric site. Fortunately, we were only staying a few days, so after dumping our tanks we settled into site D4.

Fun Things to do in Tampa Florida

Fun things to do in Tampa Florida – Honestly, the Tampa/Sarasota area is our favorite part of Florida. This area spans the Suncoast and Cultural coast regions of Florida which stretches from Clearwater/St. Petersburg/Tampa down through Bradenton and includes Sarasota. The region names give you a hint of what makes them so great – many sunny days and lots of cultural activities.

Motorhome solar panel installation

Motorhome Solar Panel Installation – YOU CAN DO IT!

Motorhome solar panel installation projects are a significant challenge for most people, and we’re no different. When we decided to upgrade our electrical system to add solar energy collection with lithium battery storage, Scott did not know much about solar energy systems specifically and has had a life-long aversion to electrical-related projects in general. He was fairly comfortable with the initial step of replacing our failing AGM batteries with BattleBorn lithium batteries and battery monitoring kits, but designing and installing a solar collection system was a much bigger undertaking.

Ladies Day out in Asheville

Ladies Day Out in Asheville – Coffee/Tea, Arts, Beverages, & Views

I recently had the pleasure of putting together a Ladies Day out in Asheville, North Carolina, with three of my best full-time RV girlfriends (see links below). Designing memorable travel experiences for groups is an art. There’s no one size fits all that will entertain every group. The mix of destinations and activities must meet a range of personalities and interests as well as other factors like physical abilities and energy levels. Fortunately, Asheville offers countless options for experiences across a wide spectrum of interests. Having visited Asheville many times while living in North Carolina, I was excited to show off this city’s many gems to my besties. You can see more of our Ladies Day out in Asheville adventures in this video from You, Me & the RV.
